Panic are on Soundwave Revolution in September.

From their tour dates page on their website:

No Melbourne date listed yet, no sideshows announced as yet.

they've forgotten melbourne, which is the 30th of september on a friday.

EDIT: also, I asked AJ about a month ago about sidewaves for SWR and he said they're unlikely. so looks like this is all we get.

you and me both, though i am actually very pissed that they're on this. i mean the first tour in three years and we have to deal with a 40 minute set? and pay $160 for it?

i'm not even seeing any other bands (except the bands that play on their stage because i'll be there from gates opening until they come on stage) so i have to pay $160 to see them play a 40 minute set. it's kind of annoying. i'm thankful i'm flying to Chicago to see them in June otherwise i would be even more pissed about this tour.

they better come back next year for a proper tour because its kind of ridiculous that this is all we get for the first tour in three years while every other country gets a full proper tour? people can bitch and whinge all they want about their american tour dates and them skipping states and the english can bitch and whinge all they want that they cancelled dates, but what about us, who have to wait until september to see them, only get 5 shows and 40 minute sets?

IKR? I got soooo excited at first when they announced it but then I got a message on facebook saying that there would be no sidewaves and my heart sank.

You're so lucky, I wish I had friends that would travel to the US or UK with me to see a proper fucking show lol.

That's actually a very good idea, I don't care if my mates ditch me lol I'll probably be staying at their stage the entire day until they come on. I'm so desperate I might even fly down to Melbourne to see them twice. I'd have to fork out about $300+ though D: but whatever. God I do hope they come back soon after SWR.

So being a Northern Downpour member is of no use since they won't have seperate M&G's right? Just the signing tents at SWR?

it is kind of a shitty thing to do on SWR's part. not having the sidewaves. there are bands on this tour that have never been to Australia or haven't been here in forever. everyone is so excited and all i'm thinking of is boycotting. if the prospect of seeing Dallon wasn't as tempting as it was, I probably would.

i'm going to visit my friends in the states. i'm considering dumping melbourne and brisbane and going to the black cards/neon trees tour in october/november. i don't know. the accom thing and the not knowing anything about brisbane and melbourne is kind of off putting. i'd probably have to pay for accom as well and being in a strange city :/ its off putting. i wish i knew times, so i could just fly back to sydney the same day as the festival so i didn't have to worry about getting there.

so you're going to sydney? i'm going to go to brisbane as well, i was doing all five dates, but i've decided against it. i want to know what they have planned for all the bands between monday-thursday since there's nothing on.

well. i was an all time low fan club member last year, they had plans for us aussies to be side stage and have a meet and greet, but AJ said no because they were doing a signing. Paramore did the same thing, but they didn't even have a signing. I don't know what the chances are of even having a signing. so yeah, even being a NDP member is going to be useless. no early entry. no meet and greet. this is where i start to get on my high horse and start preaching about how ridiculous it all is.

That sucks sooo much not having the Meet and Greet. I guess the signing will have to do :/

Exactly it IS shitty, there are so many great bands for SWR that I didn't even think would tour here any time soon but my love for Panic! will always win out, I've only seen them once in the 5 years that I've been a fan. I wasn't allowed to see them the first time when I was 15 :(

I live an hour away from Brisbane so I'm definitely going to that. Sydney is on the next day so I think I won't have time to fly down, check in a hotel etc. So I'm thinking of waiting a few days and going to Melbourne instead.

if they do a signing. they better. i'm considering going onto the boards and seeing what people's reactions are. especially those on NDP. i've seen everyone else's reactions and they're all OMG OMG IT'S GOING TO BE SO AMAZING and i'm like... do you people NOT understand that you're only getting a 40 minute set compared to how in 08 we got 90+ minutes? I guess 40 minutes is better than no tour. But on the other hand, this can not be considered a real tour. And if they do, it's fucking bullshit.

we missed out on tickets to their 06 tour. We didn't know they were coming out here until like the day AFTER they went on sale and since they went on sale and sold out in 5 minutes, i probably wouldn't have gotten tickets anyway. i flew over to the HCT in 08 and saw them in Vancouver and Seattle though and saw them in Brisbane and Sydney so it wasn't so bad.

Ah cool. I live four hours from Sydney and I guess the travelling to Brisbane and then back is kind of annoying. I want to fly up Saturday morning (get the first flight out) go to the RNA showgrounds straight away and then get the latest flight back to Sydney just so i don't have to worry about accom. But then there's the fear that they play last and generally the last flight leaves at like 930/10 at the latest. And soundwave doesn't finish until 1030/11. But they're not headlining, so it's not as though they'll be the last to perform. I'll definitely do Sydney anyway. Probably buy tickets to Bris and Melb and if time tables don't work out, I'll sell my tickets.

I just wanna know what they're doing with 60 bands from mon-thursday. between sydney and melbourne.

Oh wow that's pretty sweet then, going on the HCT tour! It looked amazing on the dvd! Haha yeah I only got to see them in Brisbane, I think I was in Yr 12 so I was pretty busy that year.

Yup 06 was crazy, I was so upset I didn't get to go since they were (and sitll are) my favourite band at that time.

Well at least you'll have the chance of having the same flight as Panic! when you fly back to Sydney lol. I'd be stoked if I that happened to me. Hmm that kind of gives me an idea... :P

Oh I saw that Yellowcard said that they're gonna do some headline shows as well as SWR so there is hope yet. Fingers crossed!

yeah it was pretty much the most awesome day ever. i had a M&G in brisbane so that just made up for everything :D

yeah, my friends and i had just started listening to them like... in the May and they came here in like OCT i think. But I was like OMG PANIC!!!!!! I would've loved to have seen the circus stage era.

ahah yeah, they mostly do the 7/8am flights though. my friend was on the 8am flight and they were on the flight after her. it all depends on when they're performing. if they're first, they'll fly out that night. if they're later, they fly out in the morning. having gone to 4 soundwaves and my friend having done pretty much the whole of soundwave 3 years in a row, i know how it all works now LOL.

Oh REALLY?! that would be cool. I hope to GOD that Panic! do something. I'd stop complaining then :D lol
